Archie is a smart, sweet boy looking for a home with at least one lap to cuddle in as often as possible. Not long ago, Archie was very sick and walked into a home looking for help. Those folks called us, we called a great vet clinic in Port Alberni, and some amazing foster folks nursed him back to full cuddling health...

100lbs of Love
This special girl is ready for her forever home! She is now at 100% and has been spayed. She is staying with some star cat fosters (award winners!) who are showing her all the love she needs to come out of her shell. She is receiving pats, purring and playing with toys! We are so thrilled and can't wait to introduce her to her forever family. Might that be you? Someone you know? Fill out an application (above) and let's make this happen.
Monty is a sweet 1 year-old Black Lab X. He has spent most of his live outside but loves to be with his humans. He is a love bug and cuddles are his favourite. He has not learned a lot of manners yet but walks on the leash without any problems. He is food motivated and playful. He has a calm demeanor and is happy to relax under the desk while the team is working.
If you are interested in Monty fill out an application form (see link above). Should you be a good fit for him and be shortlisted we will be in touch.
LUCA is ready...
Searching for a best friend?
Luka is! He is a 2 yr old, skinny, neutered houndy guy. He LOVES the pats and scratches and exploring new places. Luka is accustomed to sleeping inside at night and spending his days in an outside pen. He could certainly use more family time to boost his confidence. And more food...
Do you have a safe pond for a goldfish?
We have a guy who is tired of being a big fish in a little pond. He's rather be a big fish in a big pond.

Unique Dog Seeking His Unique Peeps
Bowie is in a sad situation, his first family have to let him go given changes in their home. They reached out to us, devastated, to help find Bowie's new family, a loving, patient, and mindful household.
Some unfortunate situations in Bowie's past have made him weary of strangers. However, he has been receiving some great, professional training to address this PTSD or whatever it is.
Please read Bowie's bio to get a full picture of his special challenges AND his wonderful personality. If you or someone you know may be perfect for Bowie, please fill out an application form (link found above).
A Rock Star Dog!
April 17, 2021:
Introducing, Mr. Johnny Flash! This guy is a hit with the ladies. And by that, we mean that he warms up to women faster than to men. When he arrived at our venue (CARE's animal shelter/rehab centre), Flash was a nervous wreck. Our fab fosters have helped him quickly switch from flinching when touched to seeking couch cuddles! Like all country singers, Johnny Flash has some sad songs but maybe you and he can write some happy ones together. If interested in more info about this rock star, please fill out an application (link above).
Slow to warm up but a fast friend for life!
July 28, 2021: Grey is a special boy and needs to be introduced to new people and situations with care as he is rebuilding his confidence. He is just over a year old and needs love! He is easy to train and wants to please. He has a few bad habits (not his fault) like chewing on his bed and looking for mice in the grass.
We have not tested him with dogs, cats or children but suspect, if introduced slowly, will be fine with dogs and children. Cats, maybe not, given his love of jumping at mice.
For more info about Grey please fill out an application form (link is above) and we will be in touch.
